Black Ops II: Everything You Need to Know

Black Ops II launches Monday November 13th at midnight and millions of gamers will be filling up the servers shortly after. With that said, the following is a brief yet detailed outline of things you should know before Monday.

Campaign – A time-spanning, generation-spanning narrative, Call of Duty®: Black Ops 2 introduces players to an insidious villain named Raul Menendez who hijacks the US military infrastructure to further his own agenda. Harness the power of near-future technology and advanced robotics to pull the world back from the brink of annihilation.

Call of Duty®: Black Ops 2 catapults players to the year 2025 to confront an insidious criminal mastermind namedRaul Menendez who has stolen the keys to the U.S. military infrastructure and turned our greatest strengths against us. Engage in classified operations that harness the power of future-tech weapons and advanced robotics to pull the world’s superpowers back from the brink of annihilation.

Multiplayer – Rooted in near-future fiction, Call of Duty®: Black Ops 2 multiplayer will introduce players to some of the most cutting-edge weaponry and equipment that 2025 will have to offer.

Black Ops 2 multiplayer introduces a re-imagined Create-a-Class, introducing players to a new “pick-10” allocation system that allows for a combination of any 10 items, making almost anything possible. The new Score Streak system rewards players that play to the objective and help their team win. League Play, CODcasting and Live Streaming combine to make Call of Duty fun to watch, by providing players with the tools to commentate games and broadcast those games to the world.

Zombies – Collect the right pieces as you make your way through TRANZIT and you might have a chance to put them to good use. Shotguns are classic, and rifles are powerful, but neither can compare with the cover offered by the ZOMBIE SHIELD!

We’ll ignore the rigor mortis to shell out a few well-deserved high-fives to those Zombie Bus followers who put the pieces together themselves already. The buildable Zombie Shield is just one of many surprises we have in store as you make your way through the BIGGEST Zombies experience yet!

PlayStation All-Stars Final Boss Revealed

PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale is polished off and ready to ship, and Sony Santa Monica marks this glorious occasion with a video of the complete opening cinematic, which teases the game’s final boss. Brace yourselves – it’s Polygon Man.

Polygon Man was Sony’s mascot for the PlayStation in mid-90s North America, but was replaced before the actual console launch. With that in mind, he probably holds a fair bit of resentment for the PlayStation franchises popular enough to make it into Battle Royale.

Check out the complete opening cinematic above, with Polygon Man looming over everything right at the end. Battle Royale launches on November 20.

Dead Space 3 Co-op and Limited Editions

Dead Space 3 will be the first game in the sci-fi action adventure series to introduce co-op, which can be played on a couch with a buddy or online with a complete stranger. Although this does not effect the narrative or gameplay, the player controlling John Carver will experience dementia and see/hear things Issac will not. Watching this video shows how the dynamic between the two players will create some memorable and tense situations. Check out the co-op trailer below.

If you pre order the game you get the Limited Edition free which contains the Witness and First Contact Suits as well as the Evangelizer a combination of an assault rifle and shotgun, plus the Negotiator Weapons a limb cutting tool powered telsa.

Dead Space 3 is available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows on February 5, 2012 for North America and February 8, 2012 for the UK.

December GameInformer Features Lengthy GTA V Information

Game Informer’s much anticipated December issue is nearly upon us. The magazine promises to pack 18 pages of GTA V details and the cover has been released to build hype for what is already a title that needs no introduction.

The cover appears to show three protagonists and if you look back through the first trailer and various screen shots you will recognise them.

PlayStation 3 in China?

The PlayStation 3 received regulatory approval in China via the China Compulsory Certificate, which outlines safety requirements for participation in the Chinese market. Sony was granted the Certificate in July and it is valid through 2016.

Consoles in general have been banned in China since 2000, though customers are able to purchase them as grey market imports – this means the consoles are legally bought and sold, though the transactions stem from third parties not affiliated with console manufacturers. Other consoles, such as China’s own Eedoo, can be sold under the label of “home entertainment devices.”

Last we heard of Sony scoping out the Chinese PS3 market, it signed a letter of intent to implement training and R & D buildings in Guangzhou province, and hinted at developing games in the region. July’s Certificate doesn’t guarantee PS3 sales in China, but it’s certainly a step toward a console incursion in the Asian mainland.

MAG II Gun Motion Controller

Armchair soldiers who prefer to play FPS games while standing in the middle of their living room and/or in front of their computer have a new option when it comes to chasing their goofy bliss: The MAG II from All Interactive Entertainment, which launches on November 13 at $150.

Compatible with both the PlayStation 3 and PC, the controller senses movement through “Motion Sensing and Gyroscopic Induction movement tracking,” according to the press release, which we’d assume translates to “accelerometers and gyroscopes.” From the looks of things, moving the gun through space is interpreted as moving the right analog stick, allowing the player to aim at things by, well, aiming at things.

The device’s onboard software can be updated via downloadable firmware updates and an onboard USB port, through which All Interactive Entertainment plans to “unlock new functions and gameplay modes.” Pre-orders are currently underway at Amazon and Gamestop.
